Ingredients of Delicata Squash Shepherds Pie

  1. It's 4 of small delicata Squash, cleaned and cut in cubes.
  2. Prepare 2 of cups, water.
  3. It's 1 cup of cooked mashed potatoes.
  4. It's 1 of vegan chicken bouillon cube.
  5. Prepare 2 cups of cooked red lentils (or any lentil of your choice).
  6. It's 1 1/2 cup of each of chopped celery, onions and carrots.
  7. It's 1 can of tomato sauce, 8oz.
  8. You need 1 cup of thinly sliced green chard.
  9. You need 1-2 tbsp of Badia Mediterranean Blend.
  10. You need 3 of crushed garlic cloves or 1tbsp of ajo.
  11. Prepare 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil.
  12. You need 1 tsp of liquid smoke.
  13. Prepare to taste of Salt/pepper.

Delicata Squash Shepherds Pie is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. Delicata squash is one of the best winter squashes even though it is a fairly 'new' squash. My favorite squash to use is delicata. The long tubular gourd that's striped dark green and cream, indicates its taste via its name, which means "sweet". Delicatas can be harder to find than butternut or acorn squash (unless you live in Vermont, where they seem to be everywhere), but the quest is well worth it for the resulting pie. Delicata squash is a mild squash similar to butternut, which is a suitable replacement squash if you cannot find delicata. This is a great recipe for experimentation.
